Need to reinstall, switch machines, or grab a plugin you haven't tried yet? Every UDI DSP plugin is a free download — demo and licensed are the same file.
Product documentation
The full parameter-by-parameter guide for each plugin.
01 Installation
Download the Windows installer from your account or the confirmation email.
Windows — run the .exe installer. It puts the VST3 plugin in the standard folder every DAW scans,C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3, and can also install the Standalone app. Restart your DAW afterward.
AU, AAX and macOS — coming soon. For now every UDI DSP plugin is VST3 for Windows 10/11, 64-bit.
02 Activation
Every UDI DSP plugin ships as one file — demo and licensed are the same binary. Until you start a trial or activate, it runs in demo mode: everything works, and a short burst of noise plays every 45 seconds or so of audio, in bounces too, as a reminder — not a limitation. It stops the moment a trial starts or you activate.
To activate: click the badge in the plugin header (orMenu → Activate), then "Start trial or activate" ("Activate online" in older versions). That opens your browser to sign in with your UDI DSP account, or create one — there's no licence key to paste. If you've purchased, you're licensed as soon as you sign in. If you haven't, the same flow starts a free 14-day trial instead (once per device).
The badge in the plugin's header says where you stand:START TRIAL before a trial,TRIAL and the days left while one runs, with no noise, and DEMO once it has ended, when the bursts come back. Activated, the badge goes away, andMenu → Check for Updates tells you when a new version is out.
Activation checks in with your account periodically to stay valid, and keeps working offline for up to a week between checks — so it doesn't need a constant connection, but it isn't offline-forever the way a pasted licence key used to be.
03 Loading plugins in your DAW
If a newly installed plugin doesn't show up right away, your DAW usually just needs a rescan:
Ableton Live
Preferences → Plug-Ins. Make sure VST3 is enabled, add a custom folder if you installed somewhere non-standard, then click Rescan.
FL Studio
Options → Manage Plugins. Click "Find Plugins" (or "Find more plugins") to rescan, then check the plugin database for the new entry.
Cubase
Studio → VST Plug-in Manager. VST3 plugins in the standard folder are picked up automatically after a restart; click Update to rescan without restarting.
Studio One
Studio One → Options (Preferences on macOS) → Locations → VST Plug-ins, then Reset. Studio One rescans automatically on the next launch.
Reaper
Options → Preferences → Plug-ins → VST, then Re-scan. Enabling "Auto-detect VST plugins on startup" avoids needing to do this again.
Bitwig Studio
Settings → Plug-ins. Add the install folder if it isn't listed by default, then Rescan.
